Consolidation of the business value chain

The company COALCAFE SL , together with JUAN POVEDA SL, TEXTIL VALOR SL and LICORES SINC SA, is carrying out a project that has the help of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) within the action “ Consolidation of the business value chain ”, whose objective is the research and development of the complete process of valorization of different coffee waste and its introduction in textile processes that will give rise to different sustainable fabrics in cream-brown colors for the lining sector and the manufacture of footwear and bags . Therefore, at a scientific level, this project will achieve an advance in sustainable coloring and, more specifically, in the development of new natural pigments (sourced from coffee waste) and new textile processes that allow their application at an industrial level. This requires the joint and cooperative work of the four companies participating in this project: COALCAFE and L.SINC are responsible for researching the recovery of different coffee-derived waste products, while J.POVEDA and T.VALOR are responsible for transforming the (already sterilized) coffee into pigments or flocking elements, and for applying these to textile substrates.
